Dear Parents and Carers,
We've had a fantastic couple of weeks in school! We're incredibly proud of all our children who have taken part in recent assessments - from the phonics screener check in year 1 to the multiplication check in year 4. All children have demonstrated fantastic resilience -well done!
School has been a little quieter this week with most of our year 6 children on a residential. We can't wait to hear all about it! For those year 6 children who have remained at school, they have produced some incredible artwork, which they should all be proud of.
My assemblies this week have focused on diversity. We discussed equality and how important it is to celebrate how unique we are. We've linked these assemblies to our values of being kind and togetherness. I've been so pleased to see children demonstrating these values both in class and on the playground!

Attendance Rewards
Our children are really enjoying the attendance rewards in school, please see the below poster for what they can achieve by being in school everyday.
At Forest Town we have been working hard, as a team, over the last few weeks to make behavioural routines and expectations clear to everyone.
Each Monday, we share a behaviour focus that is taught throughout the week and then we celebrate who has really stood out in their efforts to achieve this in our assembly the following week.
Last week we worked hard on 'How we start the school day' and these children showed that they come in to school sensibly and with a superb learning attitude. We are so proud of you!
This week we are learning how to come in to school and get straight on with our first task of the day; showing our teachers that we are ready to learn everything they have planned for us.
We cannot wait to see who has achieved a special certificate this week.
Thank you for your ongoing support and well done again to our amazing children,
Mrs Potts
We are really pleased to share with you what the children in year 6 have been doing that haven't been on residential.
Year 6 have been studying the Australian artist Bernadette Twomey. She is an abstract artist who creates bold canvas art. Her artwork is striking, inspired by colour, mood, emotion and season. Her work features bold colours and abstract botanical shapes in different colour palettes. Her work is also very busy with very little negative space.
Year 6 have researched, designed and completed work in her style using a variety of mediums. Their final outcomes are stunning and it is evident to see it is inspired by Bernadette Twomey's style but is also very individual to each Year 6 artist. It has been such a pleasure to do this mini-project with them and they should be so proud of themselves.
Mrs Butler-Mallender
