Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to our last newsletter of this half term. I’m excited to share an important update regarding how we will be communicating your child’s progress at Forest Town Primary School moving forward. In response to feedback and our desire to provide a more continuous, personalized approach to your child’s learning journey, we are introducing some positive changes to our reporting system.
Rather than a single end-of-year report, we will now be adopting a new, more interactive approach. This will include an increase in parents’ evenings from 2 to 3 over the academic year. After each meeting, you will receive a mini report that provides an overview of the discussion, along with any goals set for the term ahead. Our aim is that with this more regular contact it will allow us to work together to ensure your child is supported at every stage.
Early next term we will send out an invitation to sign up for our new parents' evening in July.
I hope you have a fantastic break. Thank you for your continued support

Attendance Rewards
Our children are really enjoying the attendance rewards in school, please see the below poster for what they can achieve by being in school everyday.
After the successful read with your adults last term, we are really looking forward to welcoming parents and carers into school again on Friday 6 June 2025 from 8:30am to 9:00am to read with your children in their classrooms.
If you have more than one child in school, then you are able to choose one classroom with all of your children.
This is a really lovely opportunity to come into school and read with your children and see what reading they are doing in school.
The children in Red Foxes, Silver Foxes and Arctic foxes visited St Albans church this week for a special visit to tie in with their RE topic of Christianity.
The children listened carefully to Vicar Phil about his job and the church. We even had chance to complete a scavenger hunt and some sketches.
We would like to say a huge well done to all our amazing Year 6 pupils that sat their SATs exams last week.
We have been blown away by everyone’s attitude to SATs. Everyone tried their absolute best and approached every test with determination, enthusiasm and confidence. They are a credit to you all. We have celebrated with some fun in the sun, playing football and tennis, drawing and colouring and just chilling with friends.
Thank you for being patient with us in relation the temporary payments systems in school since the closure of sQuid.
We are hopeful that the new online payment system - MCAS (My Child at School) will be up at running early in the next half term.
We will update you more, when we can and send out all login details. In the mean time, you can still pay for school dinners, Breakfast Club and Residential's in the school office by card or by requesting an online payment link.
Our school uniform is red. Children are expected to wear school uniform from Foundation to Year 6. Items with the school logo on are available to purchase from Schoolwear Solutions in Mansfield.
You may choose not to purchase items with the school logo on. Plain jumpers/cardigans and polo shirts are also acceptable and can be bought from local clothes retailers.
