Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter. Our aim is to keep you fully informed of the exciting developments we’re making across school.
I hope you enjoy looking at and reading about all our amazing achievements.
Have a wonderful weekend
Mrs Thornhill
Acting Head Teacher
Thank you to everyone for helping us with the new start of the day changes. We are really happy with how smooth this is.
Just to remind you that we want to provide you with as many opportunities as possible to speak to us and check in with your child’s class teacher, all teachers will be on the playground at the start of the day. The gates will open at the normal time of 8:35am. Please do come and speak to any member of staff should you have any questions or want to run anything by us. At 8:40am we will then ring the bell and ask children to line up in their class. Children will walk inside all together with their class teacher and learning will begin at 8:45am. Children will come into school and begin completing the maths ‘flashback 4’ questions, as normal.
As normal the school gates will be locked at 8:45am. Any children arriving at school after this time will need to go through the reception.

Please write your child’s name in ALL items of clothing.
Children should NOT wear jewellery in school for obvious reasons. Earrings in pierced ears should be simple studs and must be removed for PE.
Last week, some of our Year 4 children were lucky enough to go to The Mill Adventure Base on Residential for two days and one night. They took part in lots of activities including climbing walls, zip lines, tunneling, team building, canoeing and the gladiator assault course.
Mrs Littler, Mrs Gregg, Mrs Heeley and Mrs Pilmore were really proud of how the children behaved and demonstrated all our school values while away. The staff loved how all the children were trying out new activities and being very successful. The children really enjoyed spending time in the pods with their friends, but we think one of their favorite parts of the residential was the toasting of marshmallows and a story in the evenings!!
We are so excited to share with you, some new playground equipment that we have bought for the children to use at break time and lunchtime. This has been funded by all the amazing fundraising that we did in school last year.
The children now have access to some wonderful benches, tough trays with small toys, basketball nets, football goals and a Traverse climbing wall.
Weekly in-school band lessons that celebrate fun, individuality and creativity! Fun and inclusive rock and pop band lessons for 4-11 year olds.
Your child can learn to play an instrument in their very own band with no experience necessary! Guided by inspirational musicians, children learn songs they love in a fun and supportive in-school group setting.

Over the last few weeks in school the children have been taking part in some football practice with Mansfield Town Football Club building them up to take part in the penalty shootout. The children have all had a really good time with the coaches from Mansfield Town and lots of fun with the penalty shootout.
Remember any sponsorship money will need to be handed in by Tuesday 13th May in order to be counted and collected.
Certificates and awards (including prizes) will be handed out before half term during assembly.
Any money raised through sponsorship will be split between the Mansfield Community Trust and school. All money raised for school will be used to improve and enhance our outdoor equipment for break times and lunchtimes.
We always welcome feedback and want to continue to work closely with you to ensure your children are thriving at school.
